LiY, signifiant Live into Yours, une citation trouvée sur le disque d’or envoyé dans l’espace en 1977, traduit bien l’origine de son nom à travers ses chansons. Étiquetée comme musique post trip hop electro clash, qui appelle à l’infini et au cosmos, LiY s’inspire notamment de Portishead, Austra, The Knife, Spiritualized, Brutal Truth, PJ Harvey et Björk.
Le trio tente de faire ressentir la nostalgie des moments passés tout en embrassant les possibilités du futur. Ils souhaitent redonner à leurs auditeur·rices un pouvoir d’attraction d’où observer l’univers dans un monde au point de rupture à travers « Songs for telescope ». Entre autres en traduisant la sensation du désir qui émerge entre deux êtres, comme sentiment permettant encore de s’accrocher à la vie. Leur collaborations avec l’artiste visuel Sabrina Ratté pour la vidéo et la chanteuse Mykalle Bielinski pour le travail de choriste viennent enrichir leur travail de scène.
LiY, which stands for Live into Yours, a quote found on the golden record sent into space in 1977, perfectly captures the origin of its name through its songs. Labeled as post trip hop electro clash music, which evokes infinity and the cosmos, LiY is inspired by Portishead, Austra, The Knife, Spiritualized, Brutal Truth, PJ Harvey, and Björk, among others.
The trio attempts to evoke nostalgia of moments past while embracing the possibilities of the future. They wish to give their listeners a power of attraction from which to observe the universe in a world at breaking point through “Songs for Telescope.” Among other things, they translate the feeling of desire that emerges between two beings as a sentiment that allows us to cling to life. Their collaborations with visual artist Sabrina Ratté for the video and singer Mykalle Bielinski for backing vocals enrich their stage work.

Simon Stephens — Paroles et texte Il écrit pour le théâtre depuis vingt-cinq ans, ses pièces ont été produites sur les cinq continents et traduites dans plus de trente langues. Il a traduit Tchekhov, Ibsen et Brecht. Il vit à East London avec sa femme, ses trois enfants, trois chats, un serpent, un gecko et un chien appelé GilbertandGeorge.
Christian Lapointe — Musique et mise en scène Depuis le début des années 2000, il a créé plus d’une trentaine d’objets artistiques sans compromis présentés dans de nombreuses institutions renommées en arts vivants. Expérimental et transdisciplinaire, il affine une pratique exploratoire de l’écriture scénique qui cherche avant tout son propre étonnement. Il vit hors réseau, où apparemment il compose aussi de la musique.
LiY is a musical collaboration based on a simple creative concept: one person composes the music, then sends it to another who writes the lyrics, who then sends the lyrics and music to another person, and that person sings the lyrics as they wish.
Laurence Dauphinais — Vocals and melody line She is a feminist creator interested in the notion of hybridity between forms and who claims the right not to be an expert in anything. She likes to imagine innovative ways to stage content that is strongly rooted in reality and to create captivating experiences for an ever-changing audience.
Simon Stephens — Lyrics and text He has been writing for the theater for twenty-five years, and his plays have been produced on five continents and translated into more than thirty languages. He has translated Chekhov, Ibsen, and Brecht. He lives in East London with his wife, three children, three cats, a snake, a gecko, and a dog named GilbertandGeorge.
Christian Lapointe — Music and Direction Since the early 2000s, he has created more than thirty uncompromising artistic works presented in many renowned performing arts institutions. Experimental and transdisciplinary, he refines an exploratory practice of stage writing that seeks above all to surprise himself. He lives off the grid, where he apparently also composes music.
